The orientation of dots and lines charts the movement of populations across shifting geographies. Each dot signifies a point of origin or presence — an individual, a community, a moment of convergence. Lines extend from these coordinates, tracing paths of migration, displacement, and new settlement.
This piece began with the decimation of Roginga villages and people in western Myanmar in 2017.
I think of this work as relational–an abstract drawing forming data about structure and flux. This visual field is a geography of belonging, where these constellations of replaced beings carry lived histories, and mapping mirrors the complexity of human movement and histories.
