Node Vessel (series) explores the theme of exchange and delves into the

embodiment and experience of Earth's passage of time. The title of the series signifies a point of intersection and connection, where humans enter natural spaces and engage not only with their current state but also with the profound

transformations that have taken place.

The series comprises wood-fired ceramic sculptures created on-site during the artists' journey through the American Southwest. Using microphone-embedded clay, they casted the negative spaces of the fissures and crevices of the geologic landforms resulting from natural forces of erosion, while listening to the growth of the new forms. The sculptures were subsequently fired in an enclosed pit, creating an oxygen-deprived atmosphere that allowed carbonized wood to permeate the clay's pores, leaving distinctive marks.
