Early sales at the Dallas Art Fair prove even a solar eclipse can't overshadow Texas's hot market

Dealers reported strong sales during the VIP preview of the Dallas Art Fair on Thursday (4 April) and were even more optimistic about making connections with collectors and institutions in Texas, as the art market in the region continues to grow.

 

The fair nearly overlaps with the “Great American Eclipse” taking place on Monday 8 April, with Dallas being the largest city in the eclipse's path of totality. Some travelling attendees say they will stick around Dallas to take advantage of the just under four minutes of totality the city will see. More than one million tourists are estimated to be travelling to Texas and will add around $1.4b to the state’s economy to see the last total solar eclipse that will be visible in the contiguous US until 2044...
